Introducing: The Advent
Friday Dec 04, 2020
Friday Dec 04, 2020
We wanted to let you know about The Advent - a new podcast series that takes you on a journey through the Bible 2020 readings from our next theme - The Incarnation...
Let’s have a tale whose origins are from of old, from ancient times. A tale of the mystery from which true godliness springs. A tale that is in one measure familiar but, in another, strange and fresh. Because everyone needs a story about light, and presence and hope in these dark days.
The Advent is a Bible 2020 production brought to you by the Scottish Bible Society. Written and directed by Fiona Stewart. Performed by Fiona Stewart and Cameron Potts. Engineered and produced by Alasdair Wallace.

Hope in Suffering | Kellye Stelling
Tuesday Sep 01, 2020
Tuesday Sep 01, 2020
We're jumping into the Outspoken Bible stream for this Bible 2020 theme in order to tell you about a new series of interviews linked with Hope in Suffering.
------
Welcome to Hope / Suffering – a new series of interviews where we ask the question – where do you find hope in times of suffering?
We've been talking to people from all over the world who have had very different life experiences, but who have all had to deal in one way or another with suffering in their lives.
And while the ways of suffering have been different, the place they look for hope is the same – they look to the Bible.
On this episode we talk to Kellye Stelling. Kellye is Master Facilitator with Trauma Healing Institute.
Alasdair and Fiona speak to Kellye about THI, the process of confronting trauma through Biblical based counselling, and her own personal trauma that led her to wanting to know what the Bible truly says to someone about hope when they experience suffering.
You can find out more about the resources the Trauma Healing Institute have produced for the church during the coronavirus pandemic at https://scottish.bible/#embrace

Episode Fourteen (Part Four) | The Book of Ruth
Thursday Aug 20, 2020
Thursday Aug 20, 2020
We round off our mini-series on the book of Ruth asking the question - where is God? God is mentioned, but unusually for a book in the Bible, we don't actually hear from Him directly. What can we make of this story, it's place in the wider context of the Bible, and our daily experience of relationship with God?
